February Employee Spotlight: Meet Lydia

Meet Lydia, our February employee spotlight, a cheerful RBT from our Polk location. Through the supportive environment cultivated at Cornerstone, Lydia has cultivated patience and compassion in her work with children, dedicating herself to ensuring therapy sessions are both enjoyable and beneficial. Beyond her work with our kiddos, Lydia enjoys puzzles, crafting, and playing games with her husband during her free time. What dreams or goals have you accomplished since coming to Cornerstone? Or what are some dreams/goals that you’re currently working on?
“I didn’t have goals or dreams when I first began here because I didn’t know what to expect. However, working at Cornerstone has helped me grow in my skills as an RBT. I’ve grown to be patient and compassionate to the kids I work with and do what I can to make their therapy fun and worthwhile.
Shout out to all the BCBAs, team leads, and mentors for offering me encouragement, advice, and support as I grow in this field!”
What do you like to do in your free time?
“Things I like to do in my free time are puzzles, crafts, watching TV, playing games with my husband, reading, and hanging out with friends.”
Who (or what) inspires you?
“My husband inspires me to love/follow the Lord, to be selfless, to push through the hard in life but with the reminder that he’s right next to me every step of the way and to be more humble.”
What’s your favorite thing about working with children with autism or about working at Cornerstone?
“One of my favorite things about working with children with autism is getting to experience/be a part of their growth and successes. I also love the way they make me smile and laugh.”
What’s your favorite memory so far at Cornerstone?
“There are too many laughs to pick a favorite.”
