May Parent Trainings: Functions of Behavior

Join us at the end of this month to discuss the reasons why we do what we do. Andrea Flora, ABA Therapist

I have been working at Cornerstone since June of 2021, and I have enjoyed every minute of it! So far, my favorite memories have been listening to my client’s favorite songs, pairing, and spending quality time with all of the kiddos here at the center. Each client is such a blessing, and it is so fun to see and hear about all the progress they are making!

My favorite thing about working with children with autism is that they challenge me and help me grow in many different ways, such as problem-solving and bringing out my creativity skills full force! The BCBAs that I work with every day inspire me so much! They challenge me to do my best and help me grow as a therapist, and I am so thankful for them.

Some personal goals that I am looking forward to are a trip to Israel in March of 2023 and a new niece or nephew in just a few days! Thank you, Cornerstone, for this fantastic opportunity, and thank you to the parents for allowing me into the world of your little one!

Spring Has Sprung!

It’s time to get those hands dirty! First, take a look at this blog from the Autism Journey website titled, The Benefits of Gardening for Children with Autism. Next, grab your little one and start digging! Enjoy some time spent with your child in the garden this spring and see what fantastic flowers and plants you can grow!

Bring on the sunshine!

With the warm weather here to stay, we wanted to share some family-friendly events scheduled in the upcoming months throughout the state! Check out the Visit Indiana website and see what festivities are taking place all spring and summer long. What is your favorite thing to do when the weather is warm and sunny?

The Thing About Spring (Video Book)

Flowers are blooming, birds chirping, bunnies hopping, do you know what that means? It’s springtime! Celebrate the new season by enjoying this video book titled The Thing About Spring. And be sure to take some time this spring to stop and smell the roses!
