Who or what inspires you? And why?

Being a child of immigrants, I will always say my family inspires me the most. My parents work hard to provide for five boys while always supporting us. My family has been my rock and has pushed me to try new things and be the best person I can be.

What dreams or goals have you accomplished since coming to Cornerstone?

My goal since coming to Cornerstone has been to learn and gain a new perspective. I am fortunate enough to be surrounded by so many knowledgeable people who continue to support me.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

The best advice I’ve ever gotten was from my mom, “Si vas hacer algo, hazlo bien,” which translates to, “If you are going to do something, do it well.” This philosophy has pushed me to take pride in my work and continue putting my best foot forward.

What’s your favorite thing about working with children with autism?

My favorite part about working with children with autism is building that relationship and watching them grow. We work very closely with the kids, and we see all their progress and how hard they work. I love watching them get through the hurdles and seeing the pride on their faces when they accomplish something new.

What’s your favorite memory so far here at Cornerstone?

I haven’t been at Cornerstone for too long, but my favorite memory has to be meeting all my incredible coworkers. They were so welcoming and helpful when I started, making me feel like a part of the team.

Thank you to our staff for Maximizing Those Who Struggle,

It’s March Mand-ness!

Have you heard the news?! It’s time to celebrate March Mand-ness!! Cornerstone is seeking to increase the number of mands (requests, demands, commands) produced by each of our learners across all centers. Mands are foundational to the development of communication and positive behavior change. Follow us all month long with updates on this fun and exciting campaign!

What is exactly is manding? Great question! Be sure to check out our training video on our YouTube page here to learn all about manding and its importance to the work we do every day.

Celebrating Success!

Recent Cornerstone graduates, Zaylie, Ana, and Maelyn, have worked hard and achieved something to be proud of. Celebrate their success with us, and get inspired by reading their stories. Check out what amazing things our grads have made possible!
