Becoming a BCBA

Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Marissa Hendrickson

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a graduate-level certification in behavior analysis. BCBAs receive this certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.

Applied behavioral analysis (ABA) uses scientific and systematic processes to help influence an individual’s behavior. Behavior analysts can work in schools, classrooms, hospitals, clinics, and nonprofits; many analysts specialize in specific areas like ASD.

Charlotte Williamson, one of Cornerstone’s Board Certified Behavior Analysts, began working as a therapist in 2016 and immediately fell in love with the field. She says, “It was so rewarding to see all the children’s progress and know that I was able to be a part of that positive change. After working for six months as a therapist, I decided to pursue my master’s to become a BCBA. This career has been so fulfilling. Not only am I able to help the children learn to live fuller lives, but I am also able to teach others to do the same.”

Board Certified Behavior Analysts have an essential role in the growth and development of individuals with ASD and the next generation of ABA practitioners.

We are so lucky that the Board Certified Behavior Analysts at Cornerstone have found their passion!
