Meet Amiya, one of our June Employee Spotlights! Amiya brings warmth, patience, and positivity to her role each day. Her favorite part of working at Cornerstone? The joy of making her clients smile and celebrating the small victories that come with their growth. Over time, she’s learned just how powerful a little extra patience can be, both in her work and in everyday life. When she’s not at Cornerstone, you can find her snapping photos, relaxing with her dog Samson, or enjoying live music in a truly unique way. What is your favorite thing about working at Cornerstone?
“My favorite thing about working at Cornerstone has been getting to put a smile on my clients’ faces every day. Getting to be a reason my clients smile or laugh is one of the greatest feelings I’ve ever gotten to experience.”
What skill or lesson have you learned here that you’ll carry with you forever?
“Patience! I’ve always been good with patience, but I’ve learned since working at Cornerstone that even a little bit more patience can make all the difference. It helps to remember that as much as I need patience, so do our clients or even anyone we come into contact with in our daily lives.”
What are some small moments of joy you experience daily in your work?
“Seeing my clients grow a little more every day brings me more joy than I can explain. Whether it be a small victory of successfully waiting for 10 seconds, or a big milestone like being able to talk about how they are feeling, I love getting to experience and celebrate all of the victories daily!”
What’s the best trip you’ve ever taken or a place you’d love to visit?
“The best trip I’ve ever gotten to take would have to be a rock musical festival on a cruise ship that I go on every year. Getting to experience some of my favorite music live, on a cruise with thousands of people who share my love for the music, is the best experience ever. Also, getting to hang out with some of my favorite bands is a huge plus!”
What’s your go-to way to unwind after a long day?
“My go-to way to unwind would be curling up on my couch with my dog, Samson, and reading a book or finding a show or movie to watch! What makes it even better is if I have good snacks too!”
What’s a hobby or activity you’re passionate about outside of work?
“Photography! I’ve been doing photography since high school, and I absolutely love capturing special moments in pictures. Whether it’s a big photo shoot or just silly pictures of my family/friends I am very passionate about every picture I capture.”
