Join us at the end of this month to discuss Planning for the Future: Transition to Adulthood.

There are many steps in the transition to adulthood process. This training will focus on the federal and state agencies that help aid in the healthcare financing aspect as the first steps in planning for your child’s future.

We will be covering:

Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Family Support Waiver (FSW)
Community Integration and Habilitation (CIH)
Waiver Participant Assistance and Care (PAC)
Guardianship & Special Needs Trust

Hannah Johnson-VanMeter, ABA Therapist

In my free time, I love being with my family and friends, especially my husband Caleb, our dog Rocky and two cats, Ruthie and Remington. I love to be outside, whether hiking, a day at the lake, or taking my dog to the park. I also enjoy browsing local farmer’s markets and antique shops, and I love to crochet and craft. If I’m not out and about, you can find me binging on the newest Netflix show or scrolling on Tiktok.

My current dream is to buy a house with lots of land. Since coming to Cornerstone, I have made strides in saving more money to make this dream a reality one day! I would love to fill my future home with children and more animals, maybe even a small farm.

My favorite part about working at Cornerstone is watching clients meet and exceed their goals after months of hard work. Seeing their faces light up when their therapists and BCBAs cheer them on after mastering a new skill they have been working towards is so rewarding. You build such a special bond with these kiddos. They are all so unique and special. It’s just a joy to be around them every day.

Bringing Loved Ones Home

Project Lifesaver is a nonprofit organization that works to ensure the recovery and safety of those in our community with cognitive disabilities who have a tendency to wander away from their caregivers. This proactive program provides clients with a small radio transmitter worn on the wrist or ankle. Each transmitter has a frequency that is unique to the client, allowing them to be tracked by receiving equipment that is used by our highly trained emergency responders. We are lucky enough to have enough funding from our community partners to provide this service for free to any in-need client within Hendricks County.

We recently sat down with Rhyan, a Cornerstone therapist, and learned all about her incredible friend, Kerissa! Learn more about Kerissa’s journey at Cornerstone and how our staff created programs that were geared specifically to her likes and interests by clicking here.

We are enrolling new clients at all five locations, where our therapists, staff, and programs are all truly one-of-a-kind, just like your child! Learn more about the opportunities that await you and your family by visiting our website today!
