Sheila Edwards

Parent Liaison

Bachelors in Geography, History, Indiana University
Certificate in Education, Indiana University

A former Geography teacher, Sheila spends her free time working to help her children (one with autism) progress and be the best they can be. She also mentors autism families around the country and even around the world to bring them Hope in their journey. Her talents include singing, playing the piano, painting and writing.  Helpful tip: baking her chocolate chip, gluten-free cookies will give you instant Best-Friends-Forever status. You should probably write that down just in case you need it later.

Her dream is to have a garden the size of her house.

What does Cornerstone mean to you?

“Cornerstone has allowed my son to participate in society, to attend typical school with his peers, and to interact with his family. He has a brighter future because of the caring people here.”

What is the most inspiring part of working at Cornerstone?

“As a parent liaison I now have the opportunity to mentor parents who are new to the world of Autism, to lend them Hope and Encouragement, and to help them in their journey to giving their children a better life.”

What’s your favorite Cornerstone memory?

“My favorite memory is from the day my son graduated. I gave him a big hug and said, “I’m so proud of you My Hayden!” Becky caught the moment on film, it’s a beautiful picture.”
