Children with Autism
Children struggling with autism want to express themselves, interact with their world and learn more about it, and enjoy life. Cornerstone gives your child the skills in behavior, communication, social interaction and academics to increase independence every day.
Immediate and Long-term Goals
After a comprehensive assessment, we establish immediate and long-term goals for your child’s progress. Our year-round, one-on-one programs are directly supervised and developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Our behavior therapists use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behavior (VB) therapy to break life down into small, manageable pieces and reassemble it into productive behavior patterns. Cornerstone applies a tried and true scientific method of identifying your child's individual motivations — such as hugs, movies or cheering — and uses those motivations to break through barriers to progress. We further tailor that intensive treatment to your child's unique needs, abilities and preferences. If your child grows distracted, tired or agitated along the way, our therapists adjust quickly to ensure engagement remains.
Spaces Designed for Your Child
Our facilities are specifically designed to be warm and welcoming to children, parents and caregivers. They feature calming colors, signature décor, an abundance of open spaces, play fixtures and learning amenities. Cornerstone encourages your child to energetically climb, jump, play and explore with others and nurtures your child’s unquenchable curiosity for knowledge. Therapists also increase or decrease sensory stimulation as necessary to meet your child’s requirements while respecting socially acceptable boundaries. In addition to group sessions, your child also enjoys a personalized, private space in which to continue treatment, play with a favorite toy or simply relax.
Cornerstone offers treatment from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, but development continues beyond our walls. Families and caregivers are always at the forefront of our process.
